Sea World San Diego— How to Make the Most of your Day

I spent a day in Sea World San Diego last month, but I didn’t enjoy it that much. Even though I got a discount by using a Sea World coupon, I still feel like I wasted my money.

Have you ever experienced being infuriated by your Sea World experience because you kept on missing shows and wasting time waiting for the next one, only to be told it’s already full? Have you ever gotten your cellular phone or camera destroyed because it got wet during a ride or show?

Both these things happened to me, so that’s why I’ve come up with a list of rules on how to make the most out of your day in this theme park.

Sea World San Diego Rule #1: If you wish to watch a show, be seated there at least15 minutes before the show begins.

There is nothing worse than going to a show, only to be denied entry because there are no more seats. This is especially crucial for the most watched shows such as the Sea Lion Show, the Waterworld Show, and, of course, the Shamu Show.

You have to be seated there ahead of time, not only so you can watch the show, but also so you can sit where you want.

Sea World San Diego Rule #2: Be careful where you sit and what you ride.

There are two seating zones when watching a show: (1) the dry zone, and (2) the wet zone. Only sit in the wet zone if you want to get soaked because I guarantee you 100% that you will. If you have electronics with you, hand it to a relative sitting in the dry zone or place it in a secure locker.

Oh, and please do not buy a poncho if you are sitting in the dry zone. The zoning system is there for a reason. Likewise, all the rides in Sea World are wet rides, so you will get wet when you ride these.

Sea World San Diego Rule #3: Keep an eye on your watch, and on the park map.

It is best to plan your day once you enter the park. If you look at the back of your park map, you will see the times of all the shows available for you to watch. What you can do is plan what show you’re going to watch and when you’re going to watch them, so that you won’t be running around in a panic the whole day.

You can visit the Exploration Exhibits or ride water rides in between shows, but keep in mind that the waiting time for these rides can be as much as an hour long. Every minute you spend sitting down and doing nothing while waiting for the next show is time wasted.

So, on your next trip to Sea World San Diego, remember to follow these three rules, and to save money on your ticket purchase by availing of Sea World San Diego Coupons.
